If you live in the United States and depend on network television news for world and US news, you are missing important information. In their quest for more viewers and advertising revenue, the television networks give more coverage to political scandals, character assassinations, or other sensational tabloid crap, rather than important world and US news. Below I have some important news sources from around the World Wide Web. World and US news on the web provides news coverage from many sources and points of view.
In my opinion the best television news in the US can be found on PBS. The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer is an hour of World and US News with analysis of news and issues. Guests help provide coverage that is simply not available on the daily 30 minute US television network broadcasts. Since network news is mostly fluff, commercials and celebrity reports, we are lucky if there is 5 minutes of real news. It's sad.

The PBS site is a wonderful news resource. If you want to research events and issues this is the place to go.
